LIQUOR AMMONIA
Liquor ammonia, also known as ammonium hydroxide, is ammonia dissolved in water. The concentration of ammonia in liquor ammonia can vary, typically ranging from 5% to 10% ammonia content. The remaining percentage is water. This concentrated solution of ammonia finds various applications in industries.
Ammoniacal liquor is ammonia absorbed in water. Thus, when ammonia gas passes through water, it will dissolve in water. We can call the resulting solution as ammoniacal liquor. Ammoniacal liquor is ammonium hydroxide. Ammonium hydroxide is obtained when an ammonia molecule gains a water molecule.
