THIOUREA DIOXIDE
Thiourea is an organo-sulfur compound with formula SC(NH2)2. It is structurally similar to urea except that oxygen atom is replaced by a sulfur atom. The properties of urea and thiourea differ significantly. Thiourea has a wide range of applications.
With hot tap water, Thiourea Dioxide is an excellent colour reducer for re-dying. It may also be added to print pastes for discharge printing and is used for bleaching natural wools to obtain clear colours in subsequent dyeing.
